We supply a range of beautiful pork products to local shops, pubs and restaurants including our own pantry in Marlborough and our catering business. Reared and butchered on our own farm for 100% traceability and low food miles from our farm to your plate.

 

We are a family run pig farm in the village of Seend, Wiltshire, where we have been farming for more than 50 years. In our 3rd generation, we were able to diversify into our famous Hog Roast Catering which we have expanded further into wedding, funeral and corporate catering.

padfield porkies' pantry: our passion

Padfield Porkies Pantry was set up in 2015 to showcase our wonderful delicious home produced pork products. In our café, you can try all of our products which range from our mouth watering hog roast rolls, ham egg and chips, homemade pies and of course naughty tasty cakes. We also have a raw meat fridge where you can take products home with you when you leave. 

Having The Pantry also meant that we were able to branch out and make all our own canapes, desserts, salads and cater for a lot more events such as shoot lunches, elevenses, wakes, christenings, weddings and corporate events. The Pantry allowed us to push our business to the next level and we now can include so many extras to our services.

We will be closing the pantry's doors for the last time after 4 wonderful years.

Opening the pantry has marketed our outside catering business beyond belief, but as the business has grown and grown it only seems the more sensible option to relocate the kitchen back to the farm.

Padfield Porkies have expanded their catering options from not only hog roast but also into full day wedding catering, funeral  catering, buffets and private parties which have now lead to expanding the facilities on the farm.

.I came back home to the business in 2011 after studying a National Diploma in Agriculture at Sparsholt College Winchester. Due to my passion for learning more on the butchery side of the business, I started going in with our butcher who has taught me so much and we are now turning our produce into award-winning sausages and bacon.

I was not brought up with a farming background but that all changed when I met my husband John. My duties vary from feeding the pigs first thing in the morning to butchering, delivering the raw produce, accounts, hog roasting and I especially enjoy walking our dogs.

I came back to the family business in 2012 after obtaining a first class degree in food production and supply management at the Royal Agriculture College Cirencester.

I enjoy all aspects of the family farm as every day is different; from working on the farm itself to serving customers in our pantry. When the summer season is in full flow I'm out serving hog roasts rolls to people at shows, festivals and private hog roast events. 

John padfield

I was the second generation of Padfields to farm here in Seend.

It was my wife Sandra and I who started the catering business enabling my two daughters Becky and Sammie to return home and follow their passion further.

I love watching how the farm has changed from originally just producing pigs to now seeing consumers love our own pork products.
